// Key points

  • As of October 19 these models are deprecated across most Copilot experiences, including Copilot Chat, inline edits, ask and agent modes, and code completions.
  • GPT-5.5 and GPT-5.4 point to GPT-6.1 Sol; GPT-5.4 mini and GPT-5 mini to GPT-6 Luna; Gemini 3.7 Flash to Gemini 3.8 Flash; Grok 4.5 to Grok 4.7.
  • Copilot Enterprise admins may need to enable alternatives through model policies; deprecated models are removed automatically.

Builder's takeTogether with the mid-November retirement notice on 10-16, Copilot is swapping models twice in a month. If scripts or extensions hard-code model names, check them today; the sturdier pattern is to name a tier (strong / fast) and keep model names in one config.
