// Key points

  • Generally available to Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business and Enterprise users, positioned for everyday agentic coding and terminal work at lower cost than GPT-6.1 Sol. In early testing it solved noticeably more terminal and C# coding tasks than GPT-5.6 Terra.
  • Billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing.
  • Selectable in the model picker in VS Code, Visual Studio, Copilot CLI, the cloud agent, the Copilot app, github.com, GitHub Mobile, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode and Eclipse, with a gradual rollout.
  • Business and Enterprise admins manage it through the model policy. Under default model enablement, new models are turned on automatically unless an admin has turned off the global default or disabled this model.

Builder's takeThis is the first new model since the global default policy from 10-23 took effect: in organizations that never configured it, Terra will simply appear in everyone's picker. I would watch a week of the per-client usage report from 10-25, compare unit cost and merge rate for routine tasks on Sol versus Terra, and only then decide whether to make it the team default.
