OpenAI shut down 12 legacy model snapshots including GPT-4, GPT-4 Turbo, o1 and o3-mini, plus 5 fine-tuning bases, on October 23
The deprecation announced on April 22 has taken effect, so calls to these models now fail. What went away and what OpenAI says to use instead.

- Fine-tuned models built on gpt-3.5-turbo, gpt-4, gpt-4.1-nano, babbage-002 and davinci-002 were shut down the same day and need retraining on the recommended base.
Builder's takeThis bites hardest in old scripts and internal tools nobody maintains. Search code and config for model names today, aliases like gpt-4 and o1 included, and schedule retraining for any fine-tunes.
